Shower shelf

Confession, I collect shampoo- well, I have long hair and I find that if I change up my shampoo I don't get a build up, and like the way my hair feels and acts better.  Soooo I tend to have three or four different brands going at a time.  I also like shower gel options, so I have a couple of those as well.  Then if you toss in my husband's few products the shower floor is crazy.

Not to mention I have a nozzle shower caddy crammed full.

I have $30 of Cedar from Home Depot, just stock.

The only screws I had are these, they are plastic so they will not rust.  GREAT for a wet environment, I know they are going to be to long, but again I already had these from another project.

I use to have a really nice cordless Devolt drill, but the batteries all died and when I priced replacing the batteries I could get a new drill.  When I couldn't find another "light" weight "girl" friendly drill I decided on a couple cheap electric drills.  Which is great I usually set up a drill bit in one and the Phillips head in the other.  If I wasn't being lazy today I would have gotten another cord, but I was so I did have to unplug them, which is still faster and easier than changing the bits.

A better wood worker than I would know how to figure the angles without attaching and marking.. But I know my skills so this is how I figured them out.

I attached the end and marked both ends, took it apart and made the cuts.

I marked them and cut the boards.  Here is the finished shelf.

Okay confession, I had 29 inches of room.  I cut the shelves 28, not thinking that the outside was going to add 1.5 instead of 1 inch, so the shelf doesn't fit flush against the wall.  I may take it apart and cut it down a 1/2 inch we'll see.

But I am very happy with it.
And it makes the shower smell so good.
I keep cleaner in the shower so I like how I can tuck that on the bottom shelf and you can't see it.

Happy building...

LHB charging station

'
When I saw this free unit, I knew I wanted to turn it into a charging station.
This is the painted piece I posted earlier.  Here is the back of the unit.  Just backer board.

I used a one inch hole drill bit.

To make a hole for the cord.

Inside of the unit.

Then I drilled the same size hole in the top corner of the back of the drawer.

I picked up a charging cord from Ikea, for $15 bucks.  Again that place is AMAZING.
Instantly I have a charging station for guests.  I love it.

Happy converting.

The RV truths

So I will be the first to tell you I was overtly naive about RVing, there are things that are just outside the normal thought proc...
