Chairs, chairs and more chairs. There are my first find of 8 for $150, that set has two captain chairs (not a big fan of those honestly) Then I got four with a table I paid $75. Four more matching for $15 each, one from an old roll top desk I already owned. Wrapping up with 6 free IKEA (painted green) chairs. (I'll post that) Four free that I posted "free chairs." Let us count them 8+4+4+1+6+4 = 27 WOO HOO.
I removed the cushions from all the chairs.
Here are two of the "free chairs" with the cushions removed.
I traced the outline from the bottom of the chair. I laid the plywood on the top of the chair and traced from the under side. Gary used the table saw to cut the outline out. I am afraid of the table saw, the blade from the bottom with no guard.. Pass..
I had to draw an additional line for the lip that holds the board. I just took the measurement of the lip. I don't know if you can see what I am talking about from the chair above. We cut the first board without the allowance and oops too small.
I sprayed the chairs. I got an electric sprayer. I picked one up from Freight Harbor for under $20. I started them and ran out of paint, I used an entire gallon. Gary finished the chairs.
Gary's took over here. 27 chairs took two gallons of paint. It should not have taken two gallons. I would gotten the gravity feed sprayer if I had know how much of a paint hog the electric sprayer was.
The over spay is all over the garage. Not a clean project.
Tell me they don't look GREAT.
Happy chair hunting.
