LHB hall bath

Always think outside the box when doing things like your bathroom towel hooks.  (and hooks allow more drying options than rods) I knew I wanted to use dock cleats. (This is a Lake house)  Here is the website I found the cheapest cleats on.  $1.28 each for 4" cleats. So for less than $15 per bathroom, that allowed me 10 hooks per bathroom and stayed well within my budget.
I attached the hand towel cleats directly to the wall I used toggle bolts to hold it up.  No stud was in the area I needed, so I also decided to turn it.

I took a pine 1 x 4 sanded it, then dry brushed on three different colors, blue, green and a cream. (go easy on the paint) Less is more when going for a dry brushed look.  When that dried I stained over the top.  The wood looks like old barn wood.  I love it. It is shiny because I put a layer of poly over the top.  I hated to do it, but this is in the bathroom and it will be holding wet towels, so it needed to be waterproof.

Small section on the opposite wall.

I just painted the horrible gold "makeup" lights with Hammer black paint.  (home depot) This is just a temporary thing.  But I am out of the "budgeted" light money at this moment.

I also just painted all the gold fans, yes a fan in the bathroom.  Of all the things the crazy man that built this house did.  This is one I actually like.  I have never thought about putting ceiling fans in bathrooms before, but I will from now on.

I saw this on pinterest, and LOVED it.  I would like for this door to remain closed at all times.  (it is in the hall straight off the kitchen) I painted and mounted a small set to remind the adjoining bedroom quests that the bathroom is shared with the hall.  Sadly this is the only bathroom other than the master on the main level.  These wooden people are from Hobby Lobby, $2.00 -there were two large sets and two small sets.  I just painted them black. (had that paint)  They are attached to the doors using 3M poster strips.  $3 for the packet at Walmart.  (12 tabs)

These are the smaller cut outs. So for $0.75 a set.  I think these doors are super cute.

I put the other large set on the basement bathroom door.

Happy Posting.
